While I get the sentiment, I abhor this "while we don't pay you anything" line. These students are getting an education for which many pay north of $75,000 per year. That's more than many college graduates make in their first job. Not sure where NIL stands at this point but they may also have that as a potential source of income.
It can be argued that they aren't being paid enough - and I support stipends - but I can't agree with a statement that they aren't being paid anything.
