The match play format has changed my notion of "a great season."
It's now a dominant regular season, a Pac 12 championship, a terrific showing in regionals,
and a strong performance in NCAAs, hoping that the gods are with us.
No question that the NCAA's new format robs some great teams--Oklahoma State men last year,
Cal men four (five?) seasons ago.
But I'm in favor of it; it produces great theater.
Ganne's comments make me think she'll be good for three years.
Stanford has been her life long dream.
Zhang, however, looks almost ready.
I assume the new WAGR rankings will have 5th or 6th in the world,
worst case.
