That seems like the right call. I wonder if even a tiny bit of the confidence to do so was inspired by this:
Netflix CEO donates $120 million to black colleges in an effort to 'reverse generations of inequity'
$40m is earmarked for Morehouse. Definitely helps defray the costs of lost revenue while guaranteeing the student-athletes their scholarships...
(ETA: And yes, DII schools can and do give athletic-scholarships.)
ETA2: With a total endowment of $145m, Morehouse's $40m gift receipt from has to be one of the largest percentage-increases in endowments from a single gift in the past half century. Incredible.
