Without trying to get political or even taking a side, I'm really pretty unhappy with all sides of government on this issue. One side wants things to go back to normal at any cost to human life, and the other side wants to save lives from this one particular disease at any cost to the economy.  Neither side has focused on enough data collection. Both sides have rejected the necessary level of quantitative analysis in favor of political expediency.

How can you say that democrats will tolerate any cost to the economy?  Just about every state with a democratic governor is opening up to some extent.  In California, you can get a haircut now in most counties, and guidelines for gyms reopening are coming soon.

If the economy continues to stink, it will be because people are voluntarily staying home, not because democrats have decided they're okay with a depression.

BTW, in politics, any statement that begins with "both sides" is probably half wrong.
