GR, just because some other western countries are run by idiots does not make Donald Trump not an idiot, nor does it make his response adequate.  

Your excuse making for him is so tiresome.

The problem is that every other country in the West seems to have been run by idiots.

Which, to translate, means that none of them were. It's too early to write history - though any number of people want to - but my bet is that when it is, the gating factor will turn out to be the cumulation of a reliable clinical data that hit critical mass about the end of February. This seems to be almost the universal pattern. 

By the way, a tendency to call other people 'idiots' is as good an off-hand definition of 'elitism' as you're likely to find.
