The only way the federal government under the current version of it is going to act on what we all know must be done, is for State governors to rally industry to do their bidding for them.

My SO is in the corporate events industry and was just on a conference call with MPI (Meeting Planners International). Its entire reason to exist is to support the in-person meeting industry, which is as desperate to get going again as the restaurant and sports businesses are.

There is simply no way in hell these events, that pack planes, fill hotels, and generate restaurant visits, are going to start being held unless we have these massive testing and contact tracing programs implemented. So, the Governors of these consortia states - and maybe of some other states - need to meet with the meeting, hotel, airline, restaurant, sports, movie, and probably the medical associations as well, and get those industry leaders to put METAMORPHIC pressure on Congress to act in a way that can override POTUS veto, to organize massive government buying of test supplies and coordination of a national contact tracing program.

There is NO other alternative to getting the economy moving again. None.
