I was acquainted with the head coach of one of Stanford's non-revenue sports.  We were at the major annual festival, the one where all the college coaches came to do their recruiting.  He had a clipboard with fifty names on it.  He had highlighted four of them.  I asked "Are those the four you really want?"  He replied "those are the four that can get in to Stanford."

Yikes.  8% of a recruiting pool.  And that particular sport took five athletes per year.  Better get all of 'em, coach.
