But I also am really frustrated by the complete and total BS that Shaw is being allowed to spew about recruiting, depth, and injuries - without anyone in the media challenging him. He hasn't recruited well, depth is an issue, and they are doing things differently over the last two years than in the past (without Turley vs. with Turley). Doing otherwise is to perpetuate a propaganda effort that is beyond misleading. It's dishonest
Stuff happens. We have a decent chance to be 5-3 heading into our bye and that will be a real testament to the quality and depth of our 2019 recruiting class, as well as the coaching staff’s work with them. I’ll take Shaw’s propaganda statements that they haven’t made any drastic changes in practice and training over your pure speculation that they have. Turley is gone, but he was generally around last year, which was almost as bad. I don’t know what kind of changes other than bad luck could cause our top 2 QBs, 3 of our top 4 ILBs, and 6 of our top 11 OLs to go down. You couldn’t do that if you were trying intentionally to get people hurt.
Granted, we whiffed on OLs in 2018, Bloomgren’s last class, but frankly, 2018 is on the phone and it wants its whining back. It’s 2019 now, and we’ve recruited an entire OL this year, along with Myles Hinton (6’6’’, 309, #7 OT) arriving next year. Let’s move on.
