I’m about halfway into this one and enjoying it as usual. I guess I had never really heard or noticed Coach Akina’s speaking voice, with his quaint, relaxing Hawaiian accent.  I’d only heard his boisterous and frequent shouting, all the way from the stands! (And my seats aren’t even close to midfield or close to the field at all!) I once heard him all the way from the second deck during a quiet late-night game at Stanford Stadium.  

You’d never guess that he’s full of so much fire and Harbaugh-style EUTM from that interview.  Interesting! He seems like a real player’s coach, always careful to point out the best aspects of each player and show his appreciation. His eulogy of Dick Tomey was touching and revealed some of his values as a coach.
