As for Maynard's effectiveness, isn't he supposed to be in the top 5 or 6 School near Oakland QBs of all time (at least in terms of single-season yardage)? He may look lousy to us but to those poor souls cheering for the team on the other side of the bay, Maynard probably looks like the second-coming of Aaron Rodgers (who never managed 3000 yards in a season while under the tutelage of the UC system's highest paid employee).

California's single-season passing yard leaders are:

3,499  Pat Barnes, 1996
3,021  Nate Longshore, 2006
2,990  Zach Maynard, 2011
2,903  Aaron Rodgers, 2003
2,850  Kevin Riley, 2009
