If this is indeed true, and he is to miss exactly four games, I fail to see how that's injury-related. Can anyone really predict the healing timeline down to a specific week for something that's going to take many months?
As for Maynard's effectiveness, isn't he supposed to be in the top 5 or 6 School near Oakland QBs of all time (at least in terms of single-season yardage)? He may look lousy to us but to those poor souls cheering for the team on the other side of the bay, Maynard probably looks like the second-coming of Aaron Rodgers (who never managed 3000 yards in a season while under the tutelage of Tedford).
