It's great to get a window into the program. We so rarely get to hear stuff like that, so I'm eating it up.
And Gordon pulls it out, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2! Lampl just didn't quite have enough in the tank at the end, and her leg was bothering her, but she never stopped going for shots. My takeaways:
* Gordon is such a good all-court player. Not sure she did anything that great today, but she was very good across everything (except serving, where she didn't seem to have her pace fully in hand).
* Lampl's forehand is terrifying. She can hit it anywhere from anywhere, and with incredible pace. Goodness, what a weapon that is. I mean, we've known this, but I haven't had the chance to watch a Lampl match from beginning to end before, and it sure stands out.
* No one served terribly well. It's early yet, though, so that's not a big deal.
* What a great run for Lampl. If she's going to be this good going forward, this year could be another special one.
* Gordon wins her second ITA Northwest Regional championship in a row. Not too shabby.
