In 2012, Stanford was down 14 to Arizona with 9 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. The defense was in the process of giving up nearly 500 passing yards and over 600 yards in total offense. Yet led improbably by QB Josh Nunes, they scored, got the one critical stop on Arizona they needed and scored again to tie the game which they won in OT. The final 2 Stanford drives included a 3rd down completion to Drew Terrell (which he fumbled and then recovered), a 4th down pass to Toilolo, a 3rd down run by Nunes for 16 yards, a 4th down pass to Ertz and 2 rushing TDs by Nunes.
I was at that game and it may be the most improbable win I have seen in Stanford Stadium. That game was the springboard for the rest of the amazing 2012 Run to the Roses.
