A great aspect of following the Directors' Cup is that it generates insight on many sports from members with significant expertise. While different sports appeal to different fans, I try to remember that for every athlete, their chosen sport represents a deep dedication of time and energy on behalf of Stanford. While we follow the Cup sports closely, we should also remember that athletes in non-Cup sports bring a similar commitment to their respective sports and also achieve unusual levels of excellence (e.g., Lightweight Crew, Synchronized Swimming, Men's Rowing, etc.).
