Wow. That was strange.
UGA just won 4-3 by winning #1 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. In the final game, South Carolina's Gamarra Martins was serving up 30-0, then tried to slide into a forehand return and tweaked something. After a few minutes for treatment, she came back and won the next point to have a 40-15 lead and chance to tie up the set.
She QUICK-SERVED, underhanding a short ball into the court, which Georgia's Jokic converted into a hammered approach and then a put-away volley. Gammara Martins then double-faulted, and on a second-serve, had an advantage, tried to come in on a short ball, and put her approach into the net.
Strange way to end the match, but Stanford will be playing the Bulldogs on Saturday.
