The AP poll came out before our loss last night and left us at 18
The Coaches poll came out after our loss and put 6-5 Stanford at 24.
The coaches have SO much respect for Tara that they are bending over backwords to give us a chance not to fall out of the rankings.Â
We will have the results of the Tennessee game before the next polls come out. I presume that a loss--particularly a bad loss--will knock us out of the top 25 in both polls, but the coaches result has me scratching my head.Â
I am trying to figure out the last time we have dropped out of the polls. In 2014-15 we got down to 19th. No season before that one was remotely that bad unless you go back to 2000-2001 when we were 19-11, and the polling data is not searchable that far back.Â
So, unless I am mistaken somehow, we have been ranked every week since at least 2001, and possibly since 1987 when Tara was first building the team at 14-14.Â
