I just noticed the 247sports.com lists decommits per school, and Stanford had zero in the just-completed recruiting cycle!
That seemed remarkable to me, so I dug a bit deeper. Here the decommits for our Pac-12 brethren:
ASU: 4
UA: 11
Cal: 7
CU: 2
UO: 7
OSU: 9
UCLA: 10
USC: 11
Utah: 4
UW: 3
WSU: 11
The average number of decommits for these 11 schools is just over 7, and only Cal and UO had the excuse of head coaching change.
Stanford's results continue to impress when I looked at our nonconference opponents' decommitments from last year:
KSU: 2
ND: 6
Rice: 2
UNC: 4
Just another data point for the uniqueness of Stanford's 2017 class.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
