I like your comfort with small numbers of LBs, but Reid is classified as a DE by both rivals and scout.  If Robinson lives up to his recruiting projection, he could go to the NFL after 2018 season.  Injuries happen. Some players may not be that good. Relying on true frosh to play and possibly even start is scary.  There is no other position that lacks the projected numbers on the Stanford roster than LB in two years.  Fans tend to project recruiting needs with current depth and skill chart but you really need to look two years out.  We signed 4 DL last year, that is less of an urgent future need than LB imo.

Also shouldn't you be far more concerned about Safeties? Seeing as how for 2019 we only have 2 maybe 3 right now? And unlike LB we don't have guys lined up for the 18 and 19 classes?
