Shaw on the wildcard call in the 4Q:

Coach David Shaw stood by the decision to use RB Tyler Gaffney to run the wildcat on third-and-8 at the USC 13 trailing by three in the fourth quarter. “If he gets the first down, great,” Shaw said. “If he doesn’t, we kick the field goal and tie the game late in the fourth quarter.”

How many times has Gaffney actually handed off to the sweep runner?  I presume he's making the right decisions on whether to keep it or not...which just means that the U$C defense was beating our blocking scheme pretty well.
