I agree the stadium started out feeling pretty full and then people slowly started dribbling out around halftime, and it was a ghost town halfway through the fourth quarter.
Part of it could have to do with the fact that it was Cardinal Kids Day, with free tickets for kids (with an adult) and free tickets for educators. The game ran long, so the early departures may also have to do with the late hour.
I thought the crowd was OK -- although the Leach claimed the noise came from the PA system, I thought it was the fans, and the Cougs had at least 3 false starts and a time out, with 2 of those false starts near the goal line in front of me -- opposite of the student section.
I was actually a little disappointed with the student section. I think I heard of it on this board -- that before school started Stanford made student section tickets available to local high school kids? Anyway, I thought the student section was louder for Kansas State and SC.
Many people stopped cheering around the third quarter. Although I knew it wouldn't have any effect on the outcome of the game, I stayed loud just because I thought that was the best thing to do to support the team. I swear even several Stanford fans were giving me a hard time for cheering loudly for the team during the fourth quarter.
