For those of you who went to the game, how dead was the home crowd at the beginning of the game? Based on the crowd shots, it looked pretty dismal. Even when it was early, the TV shots showed fans sitting down with their arms folded waiting for things to go wrong. I know we were terrible against UW and obviously that continued on Saturday. The team didn't have any energy the entire game but the crowd didn't help. And this was the first home game with the students back.
I get that there wasn't much to cheer for as the game went on but early in the game our crowd was pathetic early in the game. It's a pretty embarrassing home field that doesn't even make the visiting team practice a silent count leading up to their games at Stanford. We all sit back and criticize the coaching and the players when things are this bad (hell we do it when we have any "ugly" loss). The least we can do is cheer these guys on as much as we can while the game is still in doubt. We owe this team that much for the past 8 years of fantastic football. I just wish I could make it to the games this year.
And rant over.
