I believe Bob is right -- the true freshmen who have played are Robinson, Herbig, and McNitzky. I noticed Robinson in the game at OLB in the 4th quarter, so he's not just playing special teams. Herbig is getting regular snaps in the jumbo formations. As Bob noted, McNitzky is the long snapper on punts.
A medical redshirt would be available to a player who appeared in no more than four games and who suffered a season-ending injury in the first half of the season.
