I don't think the Texas/Oklahoma addition fits the culture of the Pac-12 at all, and while it wouldn't kill the Pac-12, it'll certainly water it down.

Based on the We're No. 5 thread, it looks like the Pac12 could use some of Texas' academic reputation.

Honestly, what do you mean by "culturally"?  Intuitively, Stanford is the only one that is different, and interestingly, Stanford and Texas have historically two of the most successful programs.  UT is very culturally similar to all the state universities in the Pac12.

That Longhorn Network sure was worth it.
