I disagree, Oman. I think some of these schools -- Baylor in particular -- are terrified of being left orphaned by a collapse of the Big 12 and being left scratching at the door of the WAC or someplace similar. This may get ugly.

Agree.  I just don't think there is a lot you can do in the end other than buying a bit of time.

Personally, I would really love a local Texas conference here made up of TCU, SMU, Houston, Texas State, UTSA, U of North Texas, Baylor, UTEP.  But four of those don't want to be at a club that would have them as members.
