If "too much emphasis on academics" is a concern, WTF did he apply to Stanford and visit the campus three times? Is Stanford really going to lose Stewart because the admissions guy scared him away with the "this school is hard" mantra quoted in the story on his Stanford visit? As was said earlier, it's one thing for your recruiting rivals to bring this stuff up to dissuade recruits, but for your own school to do it, ugh. If I was Shaw I would be flying around on my broom pissed off, especially given all the admissions casualties this cycle already.
Based on everything that has been made public it sure seems like Stewart was a Stanford lock before Stanford's admissions office put the fear of god into him. Now, can Shaw and co. get Stewart to ignore or look passed the overzealous admissions guy, and comfortable enough to sign with Stanford? We'll see.
I liked Edmonds, Bisharat, and Ulloa, and obviously Robertson, but Stewart was the guy I wanted the most after the DL and David Long in this class. Really want to see him at Stanford.
