How many people in the state of Iowa do you think know that the school's nickname is "The Farm".  Hell, how many people outside of Stanford know that?  I mean, it gets mentioned publicly, but I wouldn't expect any non-alum to pay attention to that bit of trivia.

That "The Farm" vs "ANF" stuff was noted on various sports sites in the last week.  And the band script noted we are from "The Farm".

The nickname is not that obscure.  It didn't really matter.  We could have been an agricultural school and they still would have booed LSJUMB.  In fact, really, LSJUMB could have presented anything and they would have booed.  That was really the whole point.

No reason to get upset either way.  LSJUMB's goal was to get a few boos.  Iowa fans goal was to make sure they delivered those boos.

Those that want to imply that Iowa as a state is undesirable or whatever are taking it too far.  LSJUMBs little joke works as comedy if they say it, get a laugh (or boo) and move on.

FWIW - I do find it funny that almost everyone in the stadium has seen farmersonly.com ads.  How much money do they charge their customers that enables them to plow so much money into national, and largely urban, TV advertising?
