Despite all my protestations about the men's game, I found myself watching this game. I do wish Bill Walton would stick to talking about the game. His unrelated human interest stories have gone from odd and occasionally charming to downright irritating.Â
As for my interest/excitement level, I had to force myself to finish watching the game. It was all I could do not to channel surf or leave to do other things. Part of that is no doubt my lack of familiarity and recent interest in the team. On the women's side I know the story of every player going back to recruitment, and this adds depth to my enjoyment when I watch. But I really would like to be able to like our men--I used to watch them and not the women, and then I watched both. But every time I watch the men over the last few years I am uninspired.Â
I would agree that this team looks vulnerable. It sounds as if the Pac 12 has many improving teams this year, and that we won't be one of them.Â
