How about using the Director's Cup as an incentive for the football team?

...that’s why we are here [NACDA] receiving the Director’s Cup, to get our football program to be a consistent performer like our women’s basketball program, like our women’s volleyball, like our men’s and women’s tennis, those great programs and to have football be up there amongst the best in the nation with those other sports is what Stanford tries to do.
