Tough evening for KJ Costello & Co. last night.
62-14 trouncing by St. John Bosco. Ouch.
I guess the one good thing is the game shows that St John Bosco wasn't just good because of Josh Rosen.
When Rosen was a junior their senior class had like 10-15 kids sign D1 scholarships. They're the top HS football program in Cali right now and it isn't even close. I think they actively recruit which I believe is frowned upon.

I think you could say that about any accomplished football program at De La Salle, Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, etc. Their athletic directors and coaches would say that they "attract" athletes versus "recruit." They know who the athletes are, the coaches and athletes are friendly with them and they see them at competitive events. They dont do much "recruiting" let alone "convincing" because they don't need to. If an athlete is attractive to them and the athlete wants to attend that school, then they do so. Champion athletes want to attend champion schools.
