Yeah, the toughest thing with walk-ons is they seems to get less (or no) benefit of the doubt from admissions than scholarship athletes. Didn't we have a walk-on kicker recruit a couple years ago who seemed like a shoo-in to get accepted, until he didn't?

Does anyone have a sense for how the admissions office handles preferred walk-ons? Do they get the same attention as projected scholarship players, or are they in the general applicant pool? If it's the latter, there are obviously no shoe-ins.

From what I've read, preferred walk-ons get more consideration than the general applicant pool, but less than projected scholarship players.
