From ESPN.com:
Our staff should get on the phone with some of USC\'s veterans, talking about the possibility of transferring. There may not be a lot of guys at USC who would be admitted at Stanford, but there are probably a few. It\'s a pretty easy pitch, right? Want to get a better degree AND play in a bowl game?
For example, does anyone think Khaled Holmes could help us on the offensive line? He started 13 games for USC at guard last season, and can also play center. He had a Stanford offer out of high school, with a 3.5 core GPA and a three-part SAT score of 1970.
Holmes will be a senior academically, but a junior in terms of football. I\'m not sure if the transfer waiver for seniors applies to him, but there may be others who could be admitted to Stanford.
Quote:Also continuing is the provision allowing USC upperclassmen to transfer to any FBS schools without the typical one-year penalty, which Trojans coach Lane Kiffin called "free agency" last year. Any USC senior can transfer this offseason and play his final season at a school of his choosing.
