Promote the walk. Â Ill bet the large majority of regular fans dont even know about it, or at least dont know when it is and that it gives a chance to see the players up close in street clothes.
The setting for tailgating outside Stanford stadium under the trees is very special. Â Promote it.
I am part of a long term tailgating group in lot 10 who arrive 3 to 6 hours  before the game.  I have no problem paying for parking, but would have some of that parking money go to the following:
- Â Â Â keep the rustic feel, but fill in the worst of the holes and keep the lots free of large branches. Â Continue to do so through the season, especially before night games
- Â Â Â Keep the parking spaces a bit chaotic thats part of the charm but maybe have some well-marked pedestrian lanes that have good lighting
- Â Â Â Signage to make it easy to tell people where to find a tailgater or their own car after a game. Â Telling someone near gate 10 about halfway to El Camino leaves a lot of room for improvement.
Have student groups for fundraising sell burgers, sodas and such at various spots dotted around the stadium (a la Notre Dame). Â Adds atmosphere and a chance to mix with students a little.
Beer inside the stadium not likely to happen, but one or two additional small beer gardens outside the stadium would be nice in addition to the official tailgater. Â People tend to stay on the same side of the stadium where they park.
