One fact that's interesting but not in this interview: His two brothers who played college football majored in criminology and kinesiology. It makes me wonder whether the younger brother really knows that he wants to study those subjects or whether he's just saying those subjects because he knows those are possible college majors. I don't know how cosmopolitan Sioux Falls is, but he may just not have exposure to that many people who pursued white collar careers. If he were to attend Stanford, I would bet he'd be exposed to some cool, but completely different, subject in a freshman or sophomore seminar and decide to pursue it as a major. Kids like Farniok sometimes get more than prep school kids do out of attending Stanford.
The mere fact that Farniok flew 2,000 miles to visit Stanford and kal shows that he's interested in expanding his horizons.
Is something somehow wrong with criminology and kinesiology?
