I have no problem with Wilner picking us 14th, especially since he ranked us 3rd in the final AP poll this year. In contrast to some others, he's actually been somewhat complimentary of Hogan and realizes how difficult it will be to replace him.Â
Heck, losing Hogan, Garnett, Murphy, Hooper, Cajuste, and Rector ain't nothing. I know we think highly of their probable replacements, but it's reasonable to expect a dip in replacement performance.Â
Of course, if we come in and start the season off well, I would expect Wilner will reflect that in his rankings (which, in his credit, he usually does). Heck, if we get through that early tough stretch of our schedule at 6-0, I wouldn't be surprised if he (and others) have us ranked at #1. No other team could match that early-season resume.Â
