JPRI (and others):
For years I have been pounding on one theme (ask CI - as he has chided me for the one-trick-pony nature of my posts): Stanford has been underperforming to talent on offense, with too many AYFKM calls, and that THAT needed to change lest all the good things built up over the years come crashing down. The debacle that we saw at NW was Wlat Offense Redux, only with more talent wasted. And it wasn't an isolated event.
Starting with the 2H of UCF, things on offense have been remarkably better. I am THRILLED. I don't care what (if anything) changed, though I will note that it sure appears that Stanford is more decisive on its play calling - i.e., we're seeing the plays get to Hogan quicker and less need to rush before snapping - and a bit more creative. But again, I don't want to haggle details, assign blame or credit, or what have you. I am just ecstatic that a Luck-less offense under Shaw is generating 475 yards/game on offense. And I really, really hope it continues. It should against WSU, barring a rash of TOs or weather-inflicted mishaps.
It really has been fun to watch this Stanford team, hasn't it?
And folks, that's what you need to keep the fans coming back.
As for the prediction threads, well, I'll let you all figure that one out.
