Toby Gerhart sighting - BostonCard - 09-24-2015

After missing the first two games, Toby had a full practice today and is now poised to play Saturday.

P.S.  Has anyone tried to see what an all-Stanford fantasy team would do?  Luck at QB, we have a couple options at RB, plenty of tight ends to pick, Doug Baldwin at receiver.  How do you think we would do?  I'm not a fantasy guy, but I'd be curious how the team would stack up.

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - ThePassionOfTheChryst - 09-25-2015

Snapshot of Stanford players in the NFL from which to build a fantasy roster:

QB
Luck

RB
Gaffney
Gerhart
Taylor

WR
Baldwin
Montgomery
Owusu
Whalen

TE
Dray
Ertz
Fleener
Hewitt
Toilolo

From this you need 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and a Flex (can be RB, WR, or TE).  You would also need a K and a Defense, but obviously those aren't applicable here.  In short, this team would not set the world on fire.

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - dabigv13 - 09-25-2015

Yeah almost certainly wouldn't win a game at all. It eould be interesting to compare to say, the fantasy team of Alabama or Kal or SC or what have you.

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - FarmBoy - 09-25-2015

Yeah, not a banner year for Stanford skill position players so far:

Luck - 55%, 3TD, 5INT, 5.7 YPA

RB
Gaffney - IR
Gerhart - no carries so far
Taylor - no touches on offense

WR
Baldwin - 14 rec, 127 yards, 1 TD
Montgomery - 4 rec, 37 yards
Owusu - 4 rec, 55 yards (apparently out for next two games)
Whalen - no touches on offense (also doesn't seem like he's allowed to do anything other than fair catch on punts)

TE
Dray - 1 rec, 13 yards
Ertz - 6 rec, 63 yards
Fleener - 1 rec, 5 yards (YIKES)
Hewitt - no touches on offense
Toilolo 1 rec, 4 yards

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - Leftcoast - 09-25-2015

Sadly, a Çal fantasy team would smoke us.  Of course, based upon their player intros, some of these guys might stiff-arm the Çal fantasy team and find their way to the Butte Community College or Oakland Tech squads.

QB Aaron Rogers

WR Desean Jackson/Marvin Jones
WR Keenan Allen

RB  Justin Forsett
RB  Marshawn Lynch

TE. Richard Rogers

Flex  CJ Anderson

K  Open

At least this much is indisputable:  "Fantasy" and "a C.al ... team would smoke us" are, indeed, words that all belong in the same sentence...

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - fullmetal - 09-25-2015

Note that both Aaron and Richard spell their last name "Rodgers."  I thought it was funny seeing their backs side-by-side during the Pack-'Hawks game last week.

The success of kal's putative fantasy team speaks volumes about Tedford's ability to coach/recruit.

Re: Toby Gerhart sighting - yvonne - 09-25-2015

I just want to break out in song every time I hear the name Richard Rodgers.

I doubt it because the Oregon team already "smoked it all."

and today, they wouldn't even get stopped.
