WBB: Still alive for Pivec - Mike - 09-18-2015

Just out from ESPN: http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/13670472/with-speed-smarts-spahn-success-cards-mikayla-pivec

Pivec is down to her final three teams -- Stanford, Oregon St., and Washington (her dad's alma mater). Awhile back, it appeared that we had been dropped from her consideration, but apparently not, thank goodness.

So, updating: PG Anna Wilson committed long ago (4 star, but listed as a 5 star for quite awhile originally), W DiJonai Carrington has Stanford among her final 6 (5 star), and Mikayla Pivec has Stanford among her final 3 (5 star). That leaves the lone "big" among our recruits, 6'5" P Nadia Fingall (5 star), as the long-shot but still possible crowning touch to what could be a stellar recruiting class for next year, if it all comes together -- three 5 star's and an ex-5 star (now 4 star). Here's hoping!

Thank you Mike for pointing out this recent article.  It is as we hoped--the rumors that Pivec had dropped us were inaccurate.  Given that she is a 4.0 who wants to go to medical school (like Bonnie?) one would think we would have a great appeal to her.

The article says she will announce her decision on her birthday on Nov 18.  Letter of intent dates are later this year than we are used to--her birthday apparently is on the very last day of the period (Nov 11-18.)  That won't be until after we play Davis and Gonzaga at Spokane.

With Carrington and it now appears Pivec admitted lets hope they see the light.    Unlike Ace.

Another update: We're among the teams being considered by 5 star, 6'4" Lindsey Jarosinsky, whom ESPN rates as 2018's #2 post, #7 overall. Note that Connecticut is among the other teams she is considering.

Wow.  We can hope, but it is awfully early to put much weight on this--she just finished her freshman season.  And  she has more than a dozen schools on her list.  She seems like a highly motivated student, though, so I would think this is a real possibility!

Pivec MUST know Brittany McPhee. Lots of similarities...WA guards with track backgrounds and sisters...Let's hope Brittany can help reel her in!

Let's hold off on her for a bit.  Two years is a long time; we haven't even assembled this year's class or had anyone for next year's class.  And we've been mightily disappointed in what looked like strong candidates in the past couple years...

I don't know. I'm excited about 6-5 Nor_Cal soph Shay Harris
