Poor Bears. The best known QB to have played for them not only introduces himself as being from
Butte Community College in NFL games, now he's been spotted rooting for Wisconsin in the sweet 16. The indignity! The schadenfreude.

He got his degree from an University of Wisconsin so he's a legit fan.

What's a non-legit fan?

Just another example of how many 59er players refuse to acknowledge where they played in college. Many of them do their NFL intros stating their hometown or high school.
But Rodgers is a Weenie and Cheesehead, and as a Stanford and Chicago Bears fan I have rooted against him for his entire career. Changing his allegiance to Wisconsin does nothing to alter this.

Didn't he actually complete his degree at one of the Wisconsin campuses? He might be more than just honorary.

A few others like Lynch and Mebane. Perhaps they chose not to recognize Cal since they did not receive degrees from the school? I prefer to believe it was due to the crappy experience while there which is certainly the case for Rodgers.

Looks like he did.

The linked piece says Rodgers got enough credits at Wisconsin - Green Bay to transfer back to his original school and complete his degree. So the degree would be from C.al, with course work at Wisconsin - Green Bay. I'm not sure what the connection is to Wisconsin - Madison. Maybe it's just because Wisconsin - Madison is the local team.

What was the question again? I haven't been able to focus clearly on this thread since the photos of Olivia Munn appeared on the original link. :P
Cheers,

Ps. I know, I know, she's no Uma.Â

Please. Aaron Rodgers doesn't dislike Ca.l. He's just been a lot of places for school. Read his interviews and you will see he has nothing against Ca.l.
The bigger question is why aren't any of you pointing out how Matthew Stafford was spotted in the stands sporting Michigan State gear last night? Apparently Georgia fans aren't happy about it.
Back to Rodgers... He is the Green Bay (Wisconsin) Packers QB. He's showing support for the school everyone around him cares about. I think it's cool for him to do that. Moreover, the game was in L.A. and his girlfriend was probably there, so it was convenient that way too.

Too bad for Wisconsin that Rodgers won't wear red. We know exactly why.

So he didn't learn to love C.al, but he did learn to hate Stanford? What's up with that?

Perhaps because he was a very smart guy (35 Wunderlic and SATs reportedly between 1300 and 1400 on the 1600 scale, 3.6 unweighted/4.0 weighted GPA), and an accomplished quarterback at Pleasant Valley High School -- which is a very good public high school with lots of AP and the only IB program north of Rosewood n California -- in Chico who wanted to attend Stanford but flew under the radar and didn't get a sniff and is (to this day) very unhappy about it.
Now that may have had to do with the fact that he was tiny when he graduated...5'10" and 165 pounds. He threw for 26 TDs at Butte CC and grew 4 inches. He had such a good high school academic record that he was able to transfer after one year instead of two.
There are 12,490 words on his Wikipedia page, but not one of them is Stanford, though his team won both games of his career against the Cardinal... :P

Huh, so he actually wanted to attend Stanford? I didn't know that. I wonder if his kal fans know that.

I mean, sounds like he fits in perfectly with his fellow 59ers to me.
