As a faculty member at UC San Francisco, I'm offended that they would dare to suggest we are their medical school.

So, the University of California, San Francisco is its own University, just like UCLA or UCSD or UC Berkeley. UCSF, however, offers no undergraduate degrees. UCSF is focused on the health sciences and has a Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, School of Pharmacy, and a Graduate Division (that offers PhD's). As a health sciences university, it is affiliated with several hospitals, most notably the UCSF Medical Center and the
UCSF Benihoff Children's Hospital. It is also affiliated with the San Francisco General Hospital (which, as a county hospital is owned and operated by the City and County of San Francisco), and the San Francisco VA (which, like all VA's, including the Palo Alto VA, is run by the federal government). Now about 20 years ago, the UCSF Medical Center and the Stanford Hospital and Clinics merged for a few years; the merger fell apart, and they dissolved. It was probably a merger ahead of its time, as since then, there has been a substantial amount of consolidation in the industry.

It would be nice if you could attempt to spell Benioff correctly and not cross out UCSF.

Oops. Hopefully my employer doesn't get wind of the fact that I can't spell
it's its name properly. I mistakenly assumed that with the merger between UCSF Children's and Children's Hospital Oakland, that the entity would drop the UCSF from its name. As it turns out, both sides are keeping the UCSF moniker and have renamed themselves UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Mission Bay (once it moves over next month) and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
FWIW, I did attempt to spell Benioff correctly; evidently I failed. Thanks for the correction.

[EDIT: Thanks Yvonne for the gentle correction. 10 lashes with a wet noodle for making such a basic error. Time to revisit one of my favorite comic strips:

I interpreted that as being aimed at your corrector.
