Has Stanford ever taken an incoming transfer in MBB? I can't remember any.

Stanford finished second behind Duke when he was being recruited.

Kenny Ammann (as mentioned, a transfer) was one of the best pure spot-up outside shooters I'd ever seen. In warm ups, I remember how he would line up just inside the baseline near the corner and shoot the ball against the edge of the backboard, trying to hit the same spot over and over. Loved that back court with John Patrick.

Kenny Ammann has been a very successful basketball coach at Concordia University in Irvine for the last 14 years.

I thought we can't take mid-year transfers. I think the transfers that we took in the past started in the fall and sat out a season. Given Semi's announcement, I assume he is planning on enrolling at a school in January and being eligible next January. That would rule out Stanford.

That's a reasonable point. Could he transfer to a JC for the spring and then come to Stanford in the Fall?
Also, I'm not sure Stanford has space for him, even though he would be a nice pick up.

I seem to remember that Zimmerman may have gone the JC route before enrolling at Stanford and after leaving Santa Clara.

I think Konrad Reuland might have gone to a JC after leaving Notre Dame.

We should get an exemption for these transfer rules because, well, we're Stanford. If the NCAA really cared about the education of scholar-athletes (which they don't), they should allow unrestricted transfer for student-athletes to go to better schools. :P

Yes Terry Konrad did.
