Dominating performance!

We played so well. GREAT passing. GREAT setting. GREAT serving. We have been playing so fast and it showed. Madi set her best match I've seen this year.

Question now is whether that 6.5 hr drive to OKC might be worth it...

Answer:  Of course!  :)

If it's any extra incentive, the Band will be there, too.

I was surprised to ready it was their first Final Four trip in several years.  That used to be a regular thing.

This photo in the linked article posted by ferrari.  Do volleyball players carry some red badge of courage in their hands and and finger joints as they leave the sport and get on with life?  We read about ankle, knee and hip injuries, but maybe tweaked fingers and hand joints are just routine and accepted as a cost.  It would seem that women might be more vulnerable, but that might not be so.  I'm typing this with various misshapen finger joints and generic arthritic stuff from a life not paying attention until too late, but deliberately putting your hand in front  of a full-speed spike seems like a recipe for injury or insult that shows up later.  (and, yeah, that pic looks like a serve rather than a spike, but players try to block those, too.)

I would assume so. Watching volleyball I see a lot of tape on fingers and hands.

Tweaked, sprained and broken fingers are a volleyball hazard for any good volleyball player.  I don't know the current statistics but at one point volleyball ranked third in college sports in terms of injuries requiring a hospital visit for just this reason.  Even decent league players usually have some sort of lingering finger injury.
