NCAA Team Title 100 Watch Continues -
Farm93 - 11-29-2010
True to our all sport mission, it is time to remember that December 5th is important for another ESPN broadcast.
The Women\'s College Cup is this weekend. Â The #1 Stanford team is the last #1 seed standing. Â The Cup is held in North Carolina this year, but UNC was eliminated. Â So the watch is on. Â It is certainly possible that #100 could be won this weekend on the ESPN family of channels right before the BCS Bowl games are announced.
Water Polo could have added to the fun, but the Water Polo team lost in the MPSF final to USC. Â That means that C.a.l and USC will go into the Final Four, while Stanford will be out. Â The Final Four is at C.a.l, so I expect C.a.l will beat SC in the final.

Was off the grid for most of the holiday, but I\'ll be watching on Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm PT on ESPN2 or ESPNU when the Cardinal take on Boston College in a rematch of the opening game of the season, a game dominated by the Cardinal but that ended in a tie thanks to superb goalkeeping by the Eagles\' starter. Â One of only two ties to blemish Stanford\'s record this season.
Other notes from Friday: first goal of the eventual 5-0 rout was set up by Christen Press, who broke Stanford\'s career assist record with her 41st of the season. Â And with a tap-in goal later in the game, Press tied Kelley O\'Hara\'s year-old record of 26 goals in a season. Â Hoping she breaks it Friday.
Yes, North Carolina being out of it will surely open things up a bit for yet another college championship being played in Cary, N.C. Â Here\'s hoping the weather is a bit better than College Station\'s sleet and snow filled College Cup last year. Â Can we maybe think about having the Cup in a location where the weather might be better, say at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, where the Galaxy and Chivas play in the MLS? Â Or maybe the new facility being built for the Earthquakes?
