It is impossible to relate the content of this article in any way to Stanford sports:

You can, I just think the analogy is inapt. Does anyone really want Shaw gone? Has he ever really flirted with other programs? Does anyone think the success is due to subordinates?
I don't know enough about OKST to know if their down year is a blip or a trend, but I think we have plenty of reason to believe that ours is a blip.

Yes, there are lots of people who want Shaw gone. Many of them didn't want him from Day 1.

No, there are actually a fair number of Stanford fans who think Shaw is merely a caretaker of Harbaugh's recruits, that he can't coach a lick, and they wish they could get another coach.

That belief seems completely at odds with the evidence.

What percentage of them post in all caps?

Very close to 100%
Many a Ca.l fan is skeptical of Shaw, as their preferred meme is the Harbaugh caretaker one. But my view is that is more based on a hope that this is the case than pure hard evidence. Next year will tell the tale for sure. Nothing would be better than to see Shaw make the changes necessary to win the Pac-12 North in 2015.

It's going to be an interesting year for sure. Oregon loses a lot of players on offense, and we don't really know what anyone on their staff is made of yet. Unless Petersen has a magical resurgence in year 2 Washington won't be competing for it, and it's hard to see anyone of Cal/WSU/OSU doing so either. So the question becomes, with us returning most of our important players on offense and having quality depth and proven reloading ability on defense, can we right the ship? It's sure going to be interesting.
