Almost none of the undergrads today were born yet on November 20, 1982.

And also of note, almost none of the undergraduates have ever had to look at the Axe trophy with the lying, deceitful, false score from 1982 carved onto its brass. They have only ever seen the true 20-19 score since our team has kept the trophy out of the hands of those who would deface it for four years.Â

Almost?
Those born during that game turn 32 today.
Yeah, there is probably an undergrad hanger-on or two that old. [More likely a late starter/vet.]

Must have been thinking of Jordan Pratt.

They'll probably continue playing that reel until it's as old as Roy Riegels film would be for the oldest members of this board.

What's the over/under on number of times it's run during the FOX telecast? Somebody with more Cardboard knowledge than I might even put up a poll.

What's the over/under on the number of times they play this part of Joe Starkey's call for the C.al radio network?
"The Bears may have made some illegal laterals."

These guys are merely infamous.

I wish they would show Andrew Luck's textbook Cattousing instead of that illegal ball movement nonsense.

I hear that was a pretty good game.

From ESPN's Rose Bowl Traditions page:
Quote:In perhaps the most famous -- and infamous for Cal fans -- Rose Bowl play, Georgia Tech earned an 8-7 victory over California in the 1929 game after Cal All-American Roy Riegels recovered a fumble, got turned around and started running toward his own goal line. By the time teammate Benny Lom stopped him, Riegels was at the 1. Cal decided to punt, but Lom's boot was blocked out of the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 Tech lead. Roy "Wrong Way" Riegels and Lom received memberships into the Georgia Tech Letterman's club in 1971.

The article is just whining from a person who couldn't get into either school. I'm posting the link for the historic photos. In addition to pictures of the band subduing an attacker in 1964, there is a slide show at the bottom that includes pictures I have not seen before. Since it's the Comical, a majority of the pictures are weenie-centric. But there are some gems buried in there, including Father Serra dressed up for Christmas holding an axe and carping at a weenie frat float ("I'm not sure what's going on here, but I'm guessing it seemed brilliant when the designers finished the keg.").Â
