The God, Kevin Hogan -
Hank 91 - 10-29-2014
A humorous (and only marginally snarky) piece from Addicted to Quack:

Here's a taste:
Quote:The God Kevin Hogan's story is, as of now, unfinished. But, should he lead the Cardinal to victory over the Ducks on Saturday afternoon, he would become the first quarterback to notch three wins over Oregon in the current era, and the first to win in Autzen twice in that time. And this win would arguably be his most impressive, without Stepfan Taylor or Tyler Gaffney to hand off to, or an elite defense to keep Oregon's attacks at bay. In order to ascend higher than any quarterback since Oregon's current reign at the top began to take shape, Hogan The God will need to put the Cardinal on his back and play like the chiseled hunk of magic that he is.
I know, the defense IS elite, but this would still be pretty impressive.

I read that yesterday and had the complete opposite reaction. I thought it was the pinnacle of snarkiness. Reading between the lines, they have no respect for Hogan as QB. I know he's had his problems, but we don't win those games without some heads up play from Hogan, whether it's scrambles to avoid tacklers or hitting Ertz in the back of the end zone. It was a good reminder why the Duck fans are so reviled. And all the comments on that site imply that the loss was entirely due to Duck players not tackling well. As if Stanford performance had nothing to do with it.

The Ducks specialize in missed tackles. They lead the conference in them this year, and rank in the bottom three in the conference in most other defensive stats.Â

The Duck comments I've seen imply that their defense is a strong point for them this year.

It's 10:30 at night. After a long day of practice, class, and [redacted], Kevin Hogan is ready to go to sleep.
"Hey, Kev," Kevin Hogan's roommate said. "Did you see what a random Oregon Ducks blog said?"
"No, I didn't," Kevin Hogan said. "I was too busy going to practice, class, and [redacted]."
"It's at Addicted to Quack," Kevin Hogan's roommate said.
Kevin Hogan tries typing in the address. Fails. Tries typing it in again.
"You having trouble, Kev?" Kevin Hogan's roommate asked.
"I always have trouble typing, for some reason," Kevin Hogan said. "Feel like I have fat fingers."
"I bet Marcus Mariota doesn't have those problems," Kevin Hogan's roommate said.
"Oh, geez, even from you?" Kevin Hogan said. "It's just, with these rings on, it's hard to type."

Hopefully Hogan is not wearing those rings on his throwing hand during games, or is he.........?

Hogan has cost Marcus the Voldemort two years in a row. If he makes it three, then he'll be God-like to me.

Mariota seems like an upstanding guy. I would have no problem with him winning the Voldemort, as Stanford doesn't have a dog in that hunt. My primary concern is earning the Pac12 North championship. The rest is just noise.

I thought it was because Mariota was hurt. Man, it's hard to keep up with whatever the current excuse is.
