penalties - TrumpCard - 10-18-2014

Stanford has committed too many penalties this year, but I think Baylor took the cake today.  18 penalties for 185 yards in the upset loss to West Virginia.

The ridiculous increase in penalties over the last few years has put a serious damper in how much I enjoy watching football.

I'm behind the rules against helmet to helmet contact and defenseless receivers, even if they are frequently misapplied, but find the emphasis on defensive holding/PI to be misguided.  In college the offense (especially passing offense) already has a significant advantage over the D, they didn't need an extra boost.

Maybe we need a new Pac-12 officiating supervisor. Oh, wait...
