Do "We Work"? - yvonne - 10-05-2014

During the early Harbaugh years, the sports marketing department ran a campaign with the slogan "We Work," signifying its hard-hitting, blue-collar approach. Players weren't necessarily the most talented, but they worked hard and would bust the opponent in the mouth. Now, our offensive line is the most talented in history, but talent doesn't always transfer to success. The class no longer has any members who know Stanford as anything but a powerhouse. Has the team lost the collective understanding of what it takes to be a great team? Is the line relying on talent rather than learning technique? They're certainly not busting anyone in the mouth.

Maybe, but I sort of doubt that's really our problem. The defense is a lot better now than it was back then, the OLs problems probably lie elsewhere.

That'd be on Bloomgren.
