Sagarin on the next seven games -

Oregon by 3.5
UCLA by 2.0
Over ASU by 5.0
Over Utah by 8.0
Over Call by 11
Over Oregon State by 18.5
Over WSU by 20,5
8-4, God Knows What Bowl
UCLA v. Oregon in the Championship Game.
That Utah call obviously doesnt consider their new QB. Not sure his upside but has anyone seen a quicker QB in the Pac-12, ever? That kid might be worth +7 for the Utes, and the good Utah defense look like the best bet to me. And it look like we should forget about strength of schedule and possible home field advantages. Looks like anyone except Colorado, and maybe Oregon State, can win anywhere.

Honestly, with this bad of an offense, Stanford could lose every remaining game except maybe Oregon State. All those other teams can score points at least efficiently, if not in bunches. Stanford's D may be the best in the conference, but the offense is also so clearly the worst that the team my not be able to withstand teams with very good offenses.

Sagarin's predictor ranking has Stanford tenth, the highest of any Pac-12 team.
For what little it's worth.
His main rating has Stanford 15th, behind Ore. (11th), UCLA (12th). In this rating, ND is 9th.

How did Sagarin predict yesterday's game?
And why so sure Oregon State is a lock? I don't see any locks right now. Does it still take six wins to be bowl elegible? I don't see that as a lock either. From yesterday's snapshot this is a poor offense and a good but not dominant defense.Â

I think that this pessimism has gotten a bit ridiculous. I know our team's flaws are more obvious since we obsess over them, but watching a couple of those other games I saw teams with problems every bit as big as ours. Can we lose any of those games? Sure, any team can lose any game. But I'd be really surprised if we dropped 3 more.

LSJU by 8.7 over UC if you factor in the home field advantage. Having said that, if I were a betting man, I would happily give 9 points and take the Cardinal. Montgomery will have a field day at Memorial......

I had noticed that, actually. I am astounded by C.al's relative success and am actually becoming concerned that our game will be a challenge. 71 is a very good sport.

Rule 1 Garvin. Keep your mouth shut until the season is over. Given that UC has surrendered 165 points in the last three games, I don't think that any UC fan should be crowing. The schedule gets a lot tougher on Saturday when UW comes to town, followed by games v. UCLA and UO. If UC wins even one of those games, I'll be surprised....

Yeah when you guys were up on UA, I remember looking at the schedule and thinking if they were getting decent they could easily start 6-0. And then looking at the rest of the schedule and thinking you could just as easily end 6-6. That said, it's better to figure things out with an easy start to the season and then see if things are chugging along well enough to take at least a few of the tougher teams.
But if we've learned anything this season, it's that we shouldn't make predictions of what will happen in the Pac12 too far out.

I'll admit I'm one of them. I really thought it would take several years to dig out of the hole Barbour got them in. I still think that it will hurt them long term. The field hockey situation is one of many consequences of spending money that wasn't there for football.
Still, the football improvement is obvious, and irrespective of how they do this year, they will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

Right on the mark re: 2015, Yvonne...
Only 5 of the 44 players in the 2014 two deep are in their final year of eligibility. CoachDykes walked into a horrific mess both academically and athletically. I figured it would take three years to turn things around on the field and a couple years to turn things around in the classroom. He is right on schedule.Â
