I think that was supposed to be a prediction for Louisville's season.

Re: Ultimate football optimist - BigEasyCard - 05-30-2014

Didn't know that we were going back to Utah this year.

Geaux Cardinal!

Just kidding? :)

The predictions are for the Cardinals.

Playing Utah twice in a row in Utah? - Redrum - 05-30-2014

Well, the official P 12 schedule says @ Stanford.  Which is a relief but sloppy mistakes like that might throw a little cold water on that optimistic preview.  Or, not.  Maybe we beat them anyhow so an approx. 900 mile error macht nichts.

I expect there will be some payback motivation for the Utah game this year.

In any event, the location matters to me because I purchased tickets for the game.  Also, isn't 61_Shasta headed our way?

Geaux Cardinal!

Re: Ultimate football optimist - Hulk01 - 05-31-2014

Coming for Utah too.

Roll call at this point:
Don Rooks '73 (father of women's crew coach Nate) and spouse;
Janice Lowe '73 and spouse (doctors and profs at Stanford),
Stephanie Chew '73 and Hulk '72.

This author doesn't know anything. He has us losing to Oregon, but in the PAC-12 CG? Oregon losing two is just so unlikely if one isn't to us. But then when you read closely, they call the Oregon game "A PAC-12 CG preview".

If they don't know how the PAC-12 CG works, why should we believe their analysis of anything?

As far as Oregon losing two games when one isn't to us is concerned. unlikely but not impossible. Who would have predicted them losing to Arizona last year?
Concerning the Pac-12 Championship game, he may have meant a preview of the North representative in the game.

The prediction is certainly optimistic, but not ridiculously so given our track record over the last four years.

Re: Ultimate football optimist - washingtonismoney - 05-31-2014

I could see Oregon losing two (but not to Stanford)...as long as nonconference games are included. (Say, to MSU and UCLA). Harder to see two conference losses if one believes Stanford's a win.

Re: Ultimate football optimist - TreeWeird - 05-31-2014

Civil War last year in Eugene was very close to a third conference loss for the Ducks.  They have UCLA in Pasadena and Ore State in Corvallis this year.

Re: Ultimate football optimist - Bruce Wang - 06-01-2014

What I think will happen this season:

1.  UCLA wins PAC-12
2.  Mora switches Myles Jack early in the season to RB fulltime.  Jack wins the Voldemort
3.  Nobody from the PAC-12 plays in the playoffs which sets off the discussion of expanding the playoffs

What I hope will happen this season:

1.  Stanford wins PAC-12
2.  Kevin Hogan wins the Voldemort
3.  Stanford makes the playoffs, and upsets everybody to win the national championship.

I will be satisfied if Stanford wins the national championship without any upsets in the playoffs.
