As the TV schedule begins to take place I begin to understan which games I will be unable to watch this year :(

What???
The Pac-12 fans across the region have complained that there are not enough day games. And now Stanford's first three games are set to take place in daylight. Can't complain there.
My guess is most will be thrilled. The UC Davis game would not have been on TV if not for the Pac-12 network, Army probably would have been on those third tier syndicated broadcasts that often are only carried in the local markets of the teams. While I would prefer both to have kicks at 7 or 8PM at that time of year, I know a lot of people missed daytime games last year. USC is on ABC and is clearly going to be a featured game with more fun under the very hot sun. All six games with listed times will be completed in time for the highlights to be pushed into the ESPN 11PM Eastern SportsCenter program. That's big for a program seeking to be in the year-end mix.
FWIW - Fans of teams in the Pac-12 should expect about half of their program's football games to be on the Pac-12 networks. That won't be changing for at least a few years. If one can't find a way to leave AT&T's DirecTV and instead will wait for AT&T to give DirecTV the Pac-12 Network in 2016 then that is a personal choice. With that AT&T Deal in the mix now I doubt DirecTV will carry the Pac-12 until the fall of 2016.
A bit odd to show that much loyalty to a company that will be gone in a few months, but I guess that is also a personal choice one can make.
FWIW2 - I am just happy that the announced game times will really help families with logistics challenges. The wok will be hot but at least we have more than 6 days to prepare.

What will folks say when the stadium appears to be half full (or less) because everyone is standing in the shade of the concourse? The stadium has earned its reputation as The Big Wok. You might leave flesh on the seats during day games in August/Sept.

So well said Farm.  Sad for those who can't get one of the many outlets for the PAC 12.   To be one of the worlds great achievements as I watch so much on the channel

Warm weather is great. I guess it has been long enough since the UCLA late August/early September game for people to forget that it is truly impossible to sit in the stadium on a HOT day. Odds are that the stadium will not only look empty for some of those games. By halftime, between older fans being rushed to the hospital and everyone else suddenly remembering a sports bar with a game broadcast, the stadium will actually be empty.

Aaargh! Looks like I'll have to resume my search for a New Orleans sports bar that carries Pac-12 Network (meaning Dish). Last year I even enlisted other Pac 12 alumni here in SEC-land in my unsuccessful search.
On a brighter note, we are flying out for the Army game and will have trained through an entire Louisiana summer prior to settling down in Section 231.
Geaux Cardinal!

I have sunny side seats and won't mind sweltering to watch U.S.C or Army, but won't do it to watch Davis. I generally would show up to support the team, but will do my little bit to discourage any future FCS games. Expect I'll donate my 6 season tix back to the school (FWIW), show up for our regular tailgater, then go home.Â

I won't miss any of the home games on P12N because I will be there. Road games - well, there's always the local sports bar...as long as they don't have DirecTV >:(

Has anyone noticed we have two FRIDAY FRICKIN' night games....one at home at 6 PM? That should be fun to get to...think CCG - minus 35%.
I think our ascending season ticket sales will soon be headed in the other direction. I know the money's good but i will continue to sarcastically say, "Thanks, Larry"

I believe each Pac-12 team has to hold a home weekday game two out of every three years. Run the numbers and one should expect to see two weekday games in a schedule about every other year or every third year.
When Stanford has hosted weekday games with advanced notice the evening attendance has been OK. The Pac-12 CG had several unique challenges. We only had 6 days notice. The tickets were like a million dollars. And it was raining all week long and the forecast was not great. Advanced notice allows people to ask for half a day at work. The game is in the season ticket plan and it is unlikely to be raining. Since the stadium is loaded with season ticket holders I suspect the paid attendance will be 45,000+ and the real attendance will be 40,000.
Thankfully, the UCLA evening game is on Thanksgiving Friday. My guess is that UCLA was THRILLED to get their weekday game on that week since most weekday options are brutal for UCLA. Thanksgiving Friday is not really a typical weekday game IMHO.

And nobody knows how AT&T might alter its own programming philosophies once it becomes a company with 25 million TV customers instead of 5 million. This is way more complicated that it appears.
And, from personal experience, I know that there are a lot reasons people might not be able to switch to a provider that has the Pac-12 Network. One of the principal arguments for moving the conference's TV deal away from Fox Sports was to gain wider exposure. Criticizing the Pac-12 Network for pursuing a sales strategy that has actually vastly decreased the conference's TV footprint is perfectly legitimate.
Thank you, Garvin. Couldn't have said it better myself. When I have been able to watch P12N I have enjoyed it, the panels are fun and Rick is much better on TV than he was as a coach. BUT, I get to watch it rarely, so miss those game broadcasts. Somehow Gametracker just isn't the same.

The DirecTV brand will live for many years, but in a few months the DirecTV stock will just trade relative to its AT&T acquisition terms. DirecTV's management's time will become consumed by integration teams and FCC meetings. My point was that one should reassess their loyalty going into the 2014 season because the company many were loyal too is already morphing into AT&T.
I am sure many on this board can comment on corporate challenges common during acquisitions.
I understand many don't like Dish, but that is an option available to every homeowner in the USA. Those not buying Dish are just saying they don't value the Pac-12 network enough to switch to Dish. That's cool, but those crying about the games falling to the Pac-12 Network need to adjust to reality. 50% of the Pac-12 football games and the vast majority of the Pac-12's non-football contest are on the Pac-12 networks. That is our reality and we aren't going back.
I do believe at some point the Pac-12 will adopt the Tennis Channel model where internet access can be acquired at a price. Given that Scott has WTA in his history I bet he knows a lot about the Tennis channel's model. For those that are not aware the Tennis Channel now has a program that allows people to get greater access for $70 per year. I have not subscribed, but I would guess it will provide year round coverage at each WTA and ATP event that is similar to what DirecTV offers during the first week of each Grand Slam.
If the Pac-12 offered an internet package for $100 a year, it would finally put a price on that loyalty to FiOS or DirecTV. One could move to cable or Dish and get Pac-12 channel and internet access at no additional costs OR one can stick with a different provider, for whatever reason, AND pay $100 for Pac-12's internet content.
The conference hinted at that model at the start of the channel, so I can only guess that the original provider contracts must have included a window of time when the Pac-12 Net would not offer that option.

On Time Warner P12N is only available with the purchase of an option sports package. I would be fine with that on Verizon.
